Unwelcome Surprise

Well since my last post a lot has happened! Not all of it good but some of it very. First of all the great relationship I thought I was in fell apart when I found out that he was married. His wife answered one of my text messages to him and told me and then continued to contact me for awhile. Apparently he was seeing other people as well all the while she was at home taking care of their 7 month old. It takes a special kind of jerk to do something like that and then feel no remorse. I don't think he's done. I pray for her to see that she deserves more than that.
I was depressed for a little while but I'm much better now! A few days after that happened I got an acceptance letter from the college I applied at :) God has a way of making things much better. I went into the school and found out a lot and see that it is the right place for me to continue my education. I'm very excited to start in January!
My weight has fluctuated a bit since all of that drama up and down but, my whole family is starting to shop at Earth Fare, which is an organic food store, hoping to become healthier :)
I also recently got a stationary bike and I love it! I try to get on it at least 3 times a week. It's a good workout :) I also got some Kelp Pills from Earth Fare. My friend told me about them and said they are great for your metabolism and thyroid health :)
Tonight I will probably try to make some new recipe with the food we got from Earth Fare!! Happy Dieting!!

The amazing disappearing girl!

Not in a good way... :( So I fell off the diet wagon for awhile. I don't really know what happened I just did. The good thing about weight though is that if you fall off you can get back on. I really, really need to start up again. It's been a real struggle. I don't enjoy counting calories but, that seems to be the only way I can lose the weight. I need to get on the scale in the morning and figure out what I need to do. I can do this! I know I can and I have to for my health and my future :) Alright back on the wagon and back to my blogging. Sorry for leaving guys! I won't disappear anymore.

Back Sliding

:( I've gained a few pounds back and I'm not a happy camper. Stupid period! I really need to get into an exercise routine because I know that is what's holding me back. It's so hard to get motivated to do it though, am I right? When I do get started though I always feel great afterwards! Exercise makes me feel awesome :) So I'm gunna get my booty on a treadmill tomorrow and work off these regained pounds!

Visitor

Tell me something ladies... Do you eat more when it's your time of the month? Or as I say "my friend is visiting"? I tend to eat more, sleep more and be generally crabby. I think I have been doing alright so far but, I've definitely been more hungry than I was last week. I wonder if there is anyway to curb that appetite just while my friend is visiting?
Well anyways, I have also gained one of two pounds back since it started but I suppose that is normal with water weight and all. I'm planning on getting back into the gym soon and tomorrow I'm going shopping! Always fun lol I'm going to try to plan some meals for the next week or two because I think it will save money and will help me keep on track with my diet. I've really been getting into cooking the last few weeks. It's actually very fun and gives you a sense of accomplishment. Especially when people love it ;)

Indulgence

Tonight we had some pizza and it was delicious! I think that sometimes when you are dieting you have let yourself indulge a little sometimes. I had 2 1/2 pieces and a salad. Usually this wouldn't make me full but tonight it did and I'm glad for that :) My tummy is getting smaller with more reasonable size portions. If you don't indulge a little you'll end up failing in the end because honestly you shouldn't just stop eating your favorite foods when you diet. Portion control is what it's all about.
Also DRINK WATER! I can not stress this enough. Did you know that sometimes when people eat they aren't really hungry they are thirsty? If you keep your self hydrated you'll feel much better and you won't feel as hungry. Plus water is great for your skin ;)

Goal 1: -10lbs by Sept.23rd
Progress: -7lbs!

Cooking Diva?

Sooo apparently I'm a fabulous cook :)
I've been looking for recipes to use because we are currently low on money and don't have a lot of food. So, trying to be more creative than peanut butter and jelly, I just downloaded this AWESOME app called BigOven (which also has a website)
So far I have tried the Honey Fried Chicken and the Chicken Enchilada Casserole. The Honey Fried Chicken was pretty good but the enchiladas... Were totally amazing :)
A great plus of home cooking is that you are able to substitute some things if you want which makes it great for dieters. Like with the enchiladas I substituted enchilada sauce with salsa because the sauce recipe I came across called for lots of butter. Lots of butter=not the best for dieting lol.

Weighing In

Well as you can see my by my weight loss tracker, I've lost 6 pounds in 5 days. This seems pretty drastic but, this actually happens a lot when I will try to lose weight. The first few pounds just fall off but, when I get to the 15-20 mark, it gets REALLY hard. So right now I'm not super excited about this weight loss because I know that the harder times are coming. I am happy with my progress and proud of myself for sticking to my diet and eating healthier though :)
